Whale Diorama and Imaginary Travelings to the 1920's
Here is a new diorama I made. It is a whale with a sea urchin in his belly. I found the Sea Urchin at a Marina on the Sound. The seagulls swoop to the water and pick them from the sides of the marina where they live. After eating the meat, they leave the shell and I find it.
My friend Ces moved to a new apartment and David an I went to his apartment for a dinner night. We had salmon salad, crackers with fancy cheese, chocolate cookies with frosting and orange beer. After eating we were so sluggish because it was so incredibly hot out. My mind flashed to that Twilight Zone episode where the world spins off its axis and is hurtling closer and closer to the sun. We lazily draped our selves on the available furniture and waited for the relief of night time and cooler temperatures. Ces's two sleek black cats looked miserable. Poor cats, forced to wear a fur coat all year long. We listened to music and when Bessie Smith came on, she made the perfect sound track for a hot day. It felt like we were in the 1920's in the south. We made up a scenario that we were at a parlor listening to live Bessie Smith. The room was be filled with cigar smoke and a bottle of boot leg gin was near by. Here are some pictures of the night. Some of them are from when it finally cooled down and we explored the neighborhood.
