The Things That Happened When I Was Older
Here are three small illustrations from my sketchbook. I painted these outside in the sun when I had a surprise day off.
Today I was at Carkeek Park for a fruit festival that ended up being more of an apple festival. On the trail to the festival I walked past a dad with his two little children. His little boy was telling him a story and I heard the dad say, "Oh yeah, when did that happen." The little boy replied "It happened when I was older." Which I think is a really cute and also mysterious response.
