Butternut Squash Soup and A Little Leaf Named Marvin
I have more Autumn things to share! First, soup that I made. It is butternut squash soup with roasted pumpkin seeds on top. I love soup. It is delicious, it is perfect for cold days, and it is healthy-ish (depending on how much cream you use.) I think of butternut squash soup as a Fall thing, but it is just as delicious and warming during the Winter. Here is the link to the recipe. It is from the website 'Chow.'
I imagine Marvin Leaf Person also loves a good bowl of butternut squash soup.
Marvin loves the sunshine, and in order to get closer to the sun, he has learned a nifty trick. When he feels a gust of wind, he disengages himself from the tree branch he is perching on. Then he rides the wind! He has become a very skilled wind-rider, so now he knows how to navigate himself to more specific destinations. When he sees a bird, he navigates toward the bird and lands on her back. Now he is in a prime position to get near to the sun. Once the bird takes flight, she soars higher then the tallest tree. Marvin revels in the feel of the warm sun rays against his leafy face. Once in a while, a bird will feel irritated at the little stowaway. The bird will flap her wings with extra gusto until poor Marvin can no longer hold on. But being so lightweight makes a fall from a great height no danger for Marvin. He just slowly swirls downward through the air, back to the forest where he lives.
