The Different Ways to Listen to Music

When I moved to Seattle, I thought I'd be seeing live music all the time. But in reality I view music live quiet infrequently. I recently went to see a band called 'Exit to Main' at the White Rabbit. I use to see live music a lot when I lived in a smaller town. There wasn't much to do, so when somebody was playing music, everyone felt like 'heres our chance!'

I still listen to music on my head phones or through the stereo a lot. Here is the playlist to a mixed CD I made recently:

1. Love of an Orchestra- Noah and the Whale
2. The Only Living Boy in New York- Simon and Garfunkel
3. Just You and Me- Zee Avi
4. Ring of Fire- Johnny Cash
5. Seduced and Abandoned- The Magnetic Fields
6. Home- Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeroes
7. Upward Over the Mountain- Iron and Wine
8. What do you hold- Christina Antipa
9. Good Intentions Paving Company- Joanna Newsom
10. Why Don't You DO Right?- Benny Goodman and his Orchestra featuring Peggy Lee
11. Guilty- Yann Tiersen
12. Intervention- Arcade Fire
13. A Sunday Smile- Beirut
14. How It Ends- DeVotchKa
15. Where You'll Find Me Now- Neutral Milk Hotel
16. The Chimbley Sweep- The Decemberists
17. My Body's a Zombie for You- Dead Man's Bones
18. Roscoe- Midlake
19. Nothin'- Lucinda Williams

Whenever I make mixed CD's I like to name them. This one is called 'The Bumble Bees Sprinkled Pollen on the Ocean Until the Sea was Covered with Flowers.' I use the word 'recently' loosely in regards to when I made this mixed CD. I made it actually several months ago as Winter was turning into Spring (which happened a lot later in Seattle then other pats of the country.) These songs together have more of a 'Winter to Spring' feel than a Summer feel. When I make a mixed CD for myself, there has to be at least five or six songs that I am super excited about and listen to over and over again. For this CD those songs were 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 12 and 13. Then I fill in the rest of the CD with songs I like a lot but aren't as obsessed over. I want to make a new mixed CD but I'm still collecting a new batch of 'obsessed over' songs to include.
