High Contrast Alphabetic Animals

One thing about babies is they like high contrast. When they are really little, they can't see color yet so high contrast black and white is especially intriguing. But even as they grow and can start to see colors, the high contrast is still satisfying to look at. I made my little one her very own high contrast cards:





The way I made these is to cut pieces of watercolor paper and used drawing ink to paint the pictures. Unlike ones you can by, I don't know how safe these would be to put in a mouth (which is what all babies love to do once they reach a certain age) so I only use mine to show her and she looks at them instead of handling them. It's fun stuff!
