Spooky Scenes from the Aquarium

The aquarium is kind of a spooky place......

Look at these strange bulbous creates, floating like tiny ghosts through an empty blue landscape.

And what about this strange structure, reaching like a mutants skeletal hand toward any semblance of light and sanity. Lurking amongst the spikes is a little creature, like a tiny alien surveying a world of calamity.

These terrifying creatures with bulbous heads hiding their menacing brains. Their stretched out limbs, clinging and grasping and coiling around and around and around. Their only light so deep down is dark.

And these fluffy absurdities! What is the meaning behind them? Their very strange existence reminds us of the absurdity and futility of life itself, something none of us want to be reminded of.

What about this odd creature with it's smooshed face and odd grimace. What sort of distorted beast has such a face?

Even though the aquarium seems to be a place of delight and learning, it is actually quite eerie.

Other seemingly innocuous places that are ripe with a spook factor:

*Libraries: Old books, old book smells, ghosts of a thousand stories!
*Amusement parks: Full of color and fun, but underneath that facade of joy are rickety old dreams and chipped paint.
*Hair salons: Discarded bits of hair from thousands of people lingering in cracks and crevices where the broom just can't reach. Little bits of ourselves that once went with us everywhere, now forever abandoned.

Now, for places that are not as spooky as they seem:

*Graveyards: They just as easily remind us of the beauty of life as they do the terror of death. To look at a gravestone and read a name makes you wonder about that person, and gives them a little burst of life within your own mind.
*Old houses: Just as easily as being swollen with ghosts, they can be overflowing with the left behind love from a thousand happy memories.
*Deep and dark forests: Sure, they can be filled with menacing monsters and dark, untold threats, but they can also have adorable forest animals! For every wicked witch lurking in the woods are little animals that will help you find your way home.
