Color Creature

In a forest of black and white
the color creature
bursts the senses.

The color creature doesn't know why she was born into a world of black and white and shades of gray. She's the only thing she's ever seen that has actual color. Even all the other creatures are black or white or gray creatures. Sometimes they look at her suspiciously and stay away. Sometimes they come far too close and gaze with great admiration. Sometimes they find pieces of her fur and bring home the fur and treasure it as a personal burst of color in such a bleak world. Sometimes they see her and cry because they are so overwhelmed by the intense sensory input of her colors. It's quite the burden and responsibility to be the only one with any color at all, but it is also a great joy.
